New Montessori module just launched

The Open College are delighted to announce the launch of the first of four new QQI Montessori modules – Early Childhood Literacy & Numeracy (Montessori Maths & Language) – 6N1935.

The purpose of this newly validated distance learning QQI Early Childhood Literacy & Numeracy (Montessori Maths & Language) award is to equip the learner with the necessary skills and competence to ensure that each child develops a competent level of literacy and numeracy skills as developed through the montessori method of teaching.

Each student will gain a full understanding of the montessori method of teaching language and mathematics. Students will be introduced to the montessori materials used in language and mathematics and the presentation of these materials to the child.

Students will learn how the Language and Mathematic exercises can be implemented into everyday life and within the montessori and childcare field and will recognise the importance of the language and mathematics exercises and how to develop extensions of the exercises so that exercises can be individually catered for each child depending on their abilities and developmental stage.

New Montessori Major Award

The Open College is delighted to announce the launch of our brand new Major Award in Montessori with ECCE (FETAC/QQI Level 6).

This part-time distance learning ECCE with Montessori programme will enable learners to work as autonomous practitioners in an ECCE setting providing them with a broad range of theories and practice in Early Childhood Care and Education in addition to a comprehensive knowledge of the Montessori Method of Education for children in the age range 3- 6 years.

Personal & Professional Development (FETAC/QQI Level 6)

The purpose of this newly validated Personal & Professional Development award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to utilise a range of advanced personal and interpersonal skills in a variety of personal, civic and specific vocational contexts, operating autonomously and/or in a supervisory capacity.

The module presents you with key theory in relation to the specific topics. In addition, there are various activities for you to complete as you proceed through your study.
